Why should I purchase a custom scrapbook?
Do you have boxes and boxes of photos sitting in a closet where nobody can see them? Or do you have oodles of images saved on your computer that only you can see? Do you have time to create custom scrapbooks for all of your most treasured photos? If you answered yes to any (or all) of these questions then a custom scrapbook is what you need. What is the style that will be used when creating my layouts and books?
Clean and simple with a focus on the actual photo versus having too many embellishments and add-ons that will distract from the real subject. I believe that less is more and a good layout should not be too cluttered or have too many colors, text styles and images.
What is the process of working with a custom scrapbook designer?
As a custom scrapbook designer, I will help you decide the type of book that will best fit your needs (per event, per year or per person); I will help you organize your photos into batches and will help you with the journaling of each batch or layout. I will send you samples of each page and will work with you on any changes you want made to the layouts.
I have years of photos, how do I decide where to start?
First you will need to decide if you want a custom scrapbook designed per event, per year, per person or a combination of all of these. For example, you may do a book for each year, but add an event book for your wedding or vacation or birth of a child. And don't worry, I can help you decide the best method for organizing your photos into books and which type is most appropriate for you. Once this is determined, you will need to upload your photos to my ftp site per the instructions I will send to your email address. It's easy to do and very quick!
How much does a complete scrapbook cost?
It depends on how many pages you would like to have per book. Please see my rates here.
What form of payments do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, Discover and AMEX
How long will it take you to complete my album?
It depends on the size of the book you are ordering. If you are only ordering one page, I can send you a sample within 48 business hours. However, if you are ordering a 20+ page book, I will work with you regarding the turn around time of your samples and your completed book. Typical turn-around time is approximately 3 weeks.
Do you accept rush orders?
Yes, I do accept rush orders. However, the rush turn around time will be given once the final page count is determined. Rush pricing also depends on the number of pages ordered.
What is a page? What is a layout?
A page comes in the following sizes: 8x8, 8x10, 12x12. The larger the size paper the more photos and text will fit on the page. A layout is the completed page with all photos, text and embellishments.
How many photos can fit on a page?
It depends on the page size you select. The larger the page, the more photos and journaling you can fit on it.
How do I add the journaling and text to my pages?
I can include the text for you as I create your layouts so that the journaling is included when the pages are printed. Or I can leave space for you to journal in your own handwriting once you receive the pages. If you want the journaling to be included in the layout of your pages that I create you can make notes via Word or Notepad for each of your pages. You can either send to me in advance with your batched photos or you can send me the text to include once you see the sample layout page I send to you for approval. If you would like me to include the journaling in my layout, it will be done via a variety of fonts through the computer. No journaling will be done via my handwriting since all handwritten journaling should be unique to your handwritting (or that of your family/friends).
Will my layouts look exactly like the samples on the website?
No, the samples I show are mainly samples from my own scrapbooks. Most of these were created for my own personal use and therefore use some elements and fonts that are not allowed to be used for anything other than personal use. I take this very seriously and will not use those elements and fonts on your layouts. However, rest assured that there are many other options out there that will be used for your layouts and designs.
Do you accept digital photos or hard copies of photos?
I accept both types of photos. All digital photos will be uploaded via my ftp site and will cropped and adjusted as needed to fit the layout of the page. All hard copy photos that are sent to me via mail will be scanned into my computer in order to be able to make digital layouts. I can send back your original photos with your custom book (additional shipping charges may apply). Included in the few to scan each photo, I will send you a CDRom of the originally scanned copies of your photos so you have the electronic versions for yourself as well.
Can I print more than one copy of each book?
Absolutely! And I encourage you to do this because the cost to print an additional page and/or book is much lower once the design portion is completed. After an individual page, multiple pages or books are designed, you can order as many copies of each as you would like. These pages and books make perfect holiday gifts, mother's day and/or father's day gifts and birthday gifts. Order a copy for grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc. Or order a book for each child so you don't have to create multiple books; just print multiple copies of one book instead! The cost to print multiple copies of each page and/or book depends on how many copies you order. If you are interested in this, I can send you pricing based on your specific need.
